I picked my Bogs up last summer to wear when we went kayaking. They worked awesome for that although my feet got way hot so I left them off until i had to get out. I use them mainly in winter and love that they're really non-slip in snow and ice. The only thing is, if I don't wear socks my feet get super cold (because of the sweat thing). But that's an easy fix, obviously. I think these boots are a god-send up here and I love them!

You forgot "Carry around massive purse with god knows what inside". These things are all so true, but I can't even remember the last time I did the majority of them. I didn't change my last name when I got married, but most of my family (and his) still puts my husband's last name on my first. It's annoying. My last name is so much cooler!

My two exceptions are: after I change my underwear to go to dinner, I also throw on mascara. It's my weakness. And since I joined the army and stopped being allowed to paint my nails, I've developed a liking for throwing on some crazy color during the weekends. I think it's my small way of saying "You can't hold me down all the time, Army". But then I like when they're all chipped up at the end of the weekend because it means I actually did something.

Love both perspectives! Growing up I never understood fingernail paint and Girls Scouts or planning weddings. I wanted to do what the Boy Scouts did - camp and play outside. Thankfully one year, we had leaders who DID take us camping and LOVED it. When they quit the next year, I quit too. None of this "Friendship Circle"
crap anymore.

I have to defend a little about the girly-girl angle - I fought it through college until my best friend (who is the complete opposite of me - VERY girly) showed me a couple things and I started to embrace it a bit. I used to believe that being a girly-girl = weakness but I know that's not true. I'll admit, I probably wear more dresses and use "colored pencils" these days a little more than I used to (and own the hottest pair of strappy red high heels), but I also have no problem of living in my own filth for 10 days in the mountains. And my gear closest is still 2x bigger than my "everyday" clothing closet.

I also don't understand why guys are intimidated by a girl when she talks her outdoor pursuits. Apparently I've reach that point where first dates won't call back after I've explained some of my outdoor activities that make their eyes go wide. Go figure. Guy friends say I'm challenging their manliness. REALLY? Because chances are that guy is still going to beat my ass up the mountain, by the mere fact alone that he is bigger and stronger than lil ol' 4'11" me.

But I digress.

I seriously love both of you.

About the 90minute wait- Beanie and go for food, for sure. If I do have to wait, I'm making a meal at home in the mean time on the sly, and I'll eat another full meal when we reconvene. You'll never know the difference and I'll be perfectly happy.

And Brendan's statement of "I don’t even know what a rip saw is. But I will build you a bomber rap anchor if needed" is man enough for me!

YES! When I come home to a clean kitchen it makes me super happy and yes, major points are given and much attraction ensues. Men would do well to learn this lesson, I think they'd get everything they want if they pitch in around the home.

I sooooo agree with your point #6 Jill! Men who help with housework are totally HOT. Seriously. Making us feel like their maid does not gain bonus points. Actually, it makes men lose points... In a very big way.

Thanks Dave! I, too, think it's weird when people talk about all their exes being "psycho" or crazy...they never notice that the one common denominator in those relationships is themselves :)
