The Toad & Co Jetlite Crop Pant ($80) could be the New Enlightening in travel and hiking wear. They are comfortable, they fit well, and they don’t feel like capris. The soft and supple Polyester/Spandex blend makes them feel…well…soft, supple and silky. If you don’t have a pair in your hiking/travel wardrobe, that’s a problem!
What I love
Comfortable. Made of eighty-six percent Polyester and fourteen percent Spandex, the Jetlite crop pants are just crazy comfortable. I’ve been mostly wearing these as my spring hiking and camping pants because they are so lightweight, breathable and non-restrictive.
Great fit. The sizing is fairly spot on if you are looking for capris that have a relaxed fit in the butt and hips. I found them to be pretty perfect for hiking and camping because they don’t restrict movement. Especially for camping when you’re doing a lot of bending and squatting setting up tents, laying out sleeping bags, gathering firewood, etc.
Lightweight and Packable. Yep, this is important because bulky clothing takes up more space and weights more in a suitcase or backpack. I hadn’t honestly considered their packability until recently, when I was packing for four-day sea kayaking trip to the Apostle Islands Memorial Day weekend. I’m by no means expecting eighty-degree and sunny days on Lake Superior this early in the season. More like highs of sixty degrees if I’m lucky (which I’m not). I want something that will feel like shorts but still give me some protection against mosquitoes and will pack down to the size of a soft eight-ounce beer cup since space is limited in a sea kayak’s dry hatches.
Versatile. Aside from being great for travel, camping and hiking, I added a chamois underneath transform them into a pair of breathable and classy cycling capris.
What could be better
Err…nothing? I have no complaints.
Another win from Toad and Co. in my opinion!
